A TRIP TO OUANARY

Trip Schedule

Day 1
9.00am – Gathering for departure at St Georges on the main square. You will then board a pirogue and motor up to Ouanary (1 hour and a half). Weather permitting, 1 or 2 stops will allow you to visit the villages along the river.

Late morning arrival in Ouanary and settling down in your rooms (2 to 3 beds) at the local rest house (gîte communal). This will be followed by lunch at the village restaurant (starters+main course+dessert but drinks not included). Free time in the afternoon for a walk up to the topographic orientation table providing stunning views on the Amazonian forest.

7.00pm – Dinner at the village restaurant (same conditions as for lunch). Then off to a restful night at the “gîte”.

Day 2
9.00am – Breakfast at the rest house. You’ll then set off with your guide on a forest trek leading to the Ouanary caves and their beautiful cascades (some 3 hours of outward and return hiking). You’ll be back in Ouanary for lunch at the village restaurant.

After lunch at the village restaurant (same conditions), your motorized pirogue will take you back to St Georges where the bus shuttle will transfer you back to Cayenne.

08.30pm – Arrival back in Cayenne.
